Richard Petrovich, a director with Tripp Scott, focuses his practice primarily on complex business litigation, with an emphasis on real estate and fraud disputes.  While at Tripp Scott, he has litigated several multi-million dollar commercial foreclosures throughout the state of Florida and has successfully represented clients from Pensacola to Miami.  In 2016 Mr. Petrovich was part of a successful Tripp Scott trial team that obtained an eight-figure federal jury verdict on behalf of a defrauded client against its former fund manager.  Mr. Petrovich represents clients in every aspect of real estate litigation including commercial landlord-tenant disputes, lien claims, title issues, and has first chaired several trials and evidentiary hearings relating to real estate matters.

Prior to joining the firm, he was a supervising assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney, where he first chaired dozens of trials including attempted first-degree murder and DUI manslaughter cases.  As a consequence of his experience with and knowledge of law enforcement and investigative agencies, Mr. Petrovich handles select matters related to government and law enforcement investigations.  In this capacity, he has assisted clients who have been investigated by or faced criminal charges from the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs; the Office of the State Attorney, the Attorney General, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the United States Department of Defense.

Active in the community, Petrovich is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, and the National Eagle Scout Association and between 2008 and 2010 chaired Florida Bar Grievance Committee 17-J.  In his spare time, he coaches youth sports. 

Petrovich holds a law degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Systems Technology from Iowa State University, where he lettered in varsity football.
