Jonathan M. Bornstein, is a litigation associate with Tripp Scott and concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation, business litigation, receivership litigation, and appellate law in both state and federal court proceedings. Jonathan earned his juris doctor, magna cum laude, from the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in Finance.
Prior to joining Tripp Scott, Jonathan served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Dorian K. Damoorgian of Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal, during which he analyzed appeals encompassing civil, criminal, constitutional, and administrative legal issues. Jonathan also served as an intern to the Honorable Jeffrey R. Levenson of Florida’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit and worked with Tripp Scott as a Summer Associate in 2021.
During law school, Jonathan contributed to Volumes 45 and 46 of the Nova Law Review, and served as the Executive Justice of Academics for the Moot Court Honor Society where his team competed nationally and were crowned Regional Champions in the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition while earning the award for Best Respondent Brief in the nation. Additionally, Jonathan served as Chairman of the Student Bar Association’s Election Committee, a member of the President’s 64, Research Assistant to Dean Olympia Duhart, and competed nationally on behalf of the NSU Trial Association.
In addition to receiving the Stephanie Aleong Impact Award awarded by the law school’s faculty, Jonathan was chosen by his peers as the 2022 J.D. Student Commencement Speaker and was inducted into the Order of Barristers upon graduation—an honor society recognizing excellence in written and oral advocacy. Jonathan earned a place on the Dean’s List every semester in addition to book awards for the highest grades in Civil Pre-Trial Practice as well as Legal Research and Writing.
