Gregory A. McLaughlin, a director and treasurer of Tripp Scott, P.A. Mr. McLaughlin represents purchasers and sellers of yachts in the myriad of legal issues affecting yacht ownership, including construction agreements, purchase and sale agreements, documentation issues, setting up offshore vessel ownership entities, and establishing charter companies and arrangements.  In addition, Mr. McLaughlin has extensive experience in various types of secured lending representing financial institutions and borrowers where the collateral is primarily real estate, yachts, airplanes, and business assets.  McLaughlin’s experience in tax-related transactions includes sales and use tax, customs tax planning, like-kind exchanges, the formation and structure of business ventures involving offshore corporations in various tax havens, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and mergers and acquisitions. He also handles tax disputes and collection matters before the Internal Revenue Service and the Florida Department of Revenue for clients.

McLaughlin holds a graduate law degree, a Master of Laws in Taxation, a Juris Doctor, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, all from the University of Florida.

McLaughlin is the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Bar's Tax Section.  He is a past chairman and member of the corporate board of directors of the YMCA of Broward County, previously a board member and legal counsel to the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, and the advisory board of the International Game Fish Association.
