Tripp Scott's Jennifer Wahba Appointed To Southern District Of Florida Grievance Committee

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 18 – Tripp Scott today announced that Jennifer Wahba, an associate with the firm, was appointed to the Ad Hoc Committee on Attorney Admissions, Peer Review and Attorney Grievance for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

The Ad Hoc Committee reviews attorneys' applications of admission and investigates allegations of lawyer misconduct referred by the court. The Committee is charged with assisting the court in the review of applications of admission and the continuing eligibility for certification of programs, supervising attorneys, and students, as well as implementation and evaluation of these rules. Through peer review, the Committee also determines whether individual lawyers are failing to adhere to an adequate level of competency necessary to protect the interests of their clients, and aids in establishing and administering a remedial program designed to raise the competence of a lawyer who is not performing adequately. Lastly, the Committee also investigates allegations of lawyer misconduct referred by the court and recommends appropriate discipline.

Jennifer focuses her practice in the areas of labor and employment, complex commercial and business litigation, general civil litigation, and appeals. In 2022, she was appointed to serve as a member of the Florida Bar's Appellate Court Rules Committee, which is responsible for proposing new appellate rules of procedure and changes to existing rules.
