Gregory A. McLaughlin, a director and treasurer of Tripp Scott, P.A.. Mr. McLaughlin represents purchasers and sellers of yachts in the myriad of legal issues affecting yacht ownership, including construction agreements, purchase and sale agreements, documentation issues, setting up offshore vessel ownership entities, and establishing charter companies and arrangements. In addition Mr. McLaughlin has extensive experience in various types of secured lending representing financial institutions and borrowers where the collateral is primarily real estate, yachts, airplanes and business assets. McLaughlin’s experience in tax-related transactions includes sales & use tax, customs tax planning, like-kind exchanges, the formation and structure of business ventures involving off shore corporations in various tax havens, limited partnerships, limited-liability companies, and mergers and acquisitions. He also handles tax disputes and collection matters before the Internal Revenue Service and the Florida Department of Revenue for clients.
McLaughlin holds the graduate law degree, Master of Laws in Taxation, a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting, all from the University of Florida.
McLaughlin is the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Bar's Tax Section. He is a past Chairman and member the corporate board of directors of the YMCA of Broward County, previously a board member and legal counsel to the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, and the advisory board of the International Game Fish Association.
